The Omega-3 Supplementation Guide
A blueprint for choosing the right fish oil supplement — filled with specific recommendations, guidelines for interpreting testing data, and dosage protocols.
Maternal cigarette smoking impairs the uptake of some micronutrients into breast milk, including vitamins A and C and iodine, a mineral. Poor micronutrient status can have both acute and long-term effects on the growing infant. But even exposure to cigarette smoking appears to have an effect on breastfeeding duration, with women who are exposed to cigarette smoke choosing to stop breastfeeding sooner than those who are not exposed. In this clip, Dr. Rhonda Patrick describes some of the harmful effects of nicotine and cigarette smoke exposure on breast milk quality and breastfeeding duration.
