What are the risks and benefits of methylene blue, and why is it gaining attention for anti-aging?
Originally developed as a synthetic dye, methylene blue has been repurposed over the past century for a wide range of medical applications—from treating malaria to managing certain blood disorders.[1] [2] In recent years, however, this molecule has drawn renewed scientific interest for a different reason: its potential to slow or even counteract aspects of biological aging. Research suggests that methylene blue may promote cellular health, particularly by modulating redox balance, activating antioxidant pathways, and supporting mitochondrial function.[3]
